My First Staycation of 2021
I recently enjoyed a quick, staycation at a hotel in downtown Atlanta, and ya’ll it was EVERYTHING!
Since the pandemic, I don’t know about ya’ll, but I haven’t traveled ANYWHERE, and have literally been stuck at home since the beginning of last year!
My birthday is in a couple of days, so when I was planning my next photoshoot a few weeks back, I decided to book myself a room, and shoot there! I’ve been wanting to do a hotel photoshoot for a while now, and was glad to finally make it happen!
It honestly felt SO good to be “away” for a night, and actually felt like I was on a nice little solo vacation. Lol. I’ve always wanted to take a solo trip as well, but have been nervous about doing it. But this staycation made me feel more comfortable about making that happen, so a solo vacay is definitely up next for me!
The hotel had safety precautions in place, and guests were required to wear masks at all times outside of the room. The main thing that really reminded me that we are in the middle of a pandemic was the fact that room service wasn’t offered (this made me sad). When I stay in hotels now (thanks to my sis), I love ordering room service! It’s a part of the entire self care/pampering experience for me! I picked up my own food for dinner, but for breakfast I had to head down to the grab and go area that the hotel had set upon the lobby.
If you have been leery still about traveling, but are anxious to go somewhere, I would highly suggest a quick staycation in your city! Find a cute hotel via Google or Instagram, and book! Even if you don’t have the funds right now for a room, save your coins and book when you can (you won’t regret it)!
I took made sure I packed all of my skincare, including eye patches, wine, and turned on my manifestation and affirmation recordings, and enjoyed my night!
I literally cannot wait for the next one! If you’re in a city where there aren’t many nice hotels, I would recommend visiting one in the closet large city to you.
